The intersection of Dinh Tien Hoang and Hang Dau in the capital’s Hoan Kiem district played host to the Hanoi Dragon Dance Festival 2019.
The event saw the participation of dragon dancers drawn from 15 districts from across the capital, including Ba Dinh, Gia Lam, Dong Anh, Tu Liem, Chuong My, and Thanh Tri.
Dragon dancers impressed watching crowds with their skillful performances during the festival.
The performances on display were prepared meticulously, leaving a positive impression on both the judges and audiences.
A large number of dragon dancers from Hoang Mai district participated in the performance.
The team from Bac Tu Liem district was honoured with the first prize.
The judges also awarded three runners-up prizes. These went to the dragon dancers from the districts of Thanh Tri, Chuong My, and Cau Giay.
The teams from Hoang Mai, Dan Phuong, and Nam Tu Liem districts were awarded the third-place prizes.
The teams from the districts of Hai Ba Trung, Hoan Kiem, Ba Dinh, Long Bien, Gia Lam, Dong Anh, Ha Dong, and Thanh Oai were acknowledged with eight consolation prizes.
The event’s organisers also presented prizes for the best decorated dragon and for the most creative dragon dance. These were awarded to the performers from Chuong My and Cau Giay districts, respectively.
Following the dragon dance and award ceremony, both local people and foreign tourists enjoyed the festive atmosphere around Ho Guom, also known as Sword Lake.

(VOVWORLD) - The fifth version of the Dragon Dance Festival 2019 took place in Hanoi on October 6 as part of a wide range of activities commemorating the city's 65th anniversary since its liberation on October 10, 1954.
