The awards were presented on June 21 marking the 97th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
In his address, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh extended greetings to all media workers on Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
PM Chinh says that the press should be a sharp weapon to protect the ideological foundation of the Party and interests of the country.
Le Quoc Minh, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association says with more than 22,000 members, VJA has made every effort to complete its tasks of providing the public with accurate, timely, truthful, and transparent information.
Vu Viet Trang, General Director of the Vietnam News Agency, and Tran Thanh Lam, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Communication and Education, offer consolation prizes to individuals and collectives.
Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha and Lieut. Gen. Trinh Van Quyet, Deputy Chairman of General Political Department, award C prizes to winners.

The 16th National Press Award features 10 A prizes, 22 B prizes, 48 C prizes, and 35 consolation prizes.
