(VOVworld) – The 2014 Spring Press Festival opened on Monday in Hanoi with 28 pavilions of media agencies.

Hundreds of press publications are on display, showing the new changes in content presentation. Nguyen Lien Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Journalists Association, said: "This year’s Spring Press Festival is very special. We launched a contest to mark the 60^th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory and the 60^th anniversary of Capital Liberation Day. These activities express the gratitude of the journalists to our predecessors who sacrificed their lives for the nation". 

At the festival, news agencies are introducing readers to their most outstanding publications. Dinh Duc Lap is the chief editor of Dai doan ket (Great Solidarity) newspaper: "This year’s festival is organized on a larger scale and is more impressive than last year. Our publications include Vietnam Quintessence and daily papers. This is a good chance for us to introduce our works". 

For the occasion, the Hanoi Journalists Association presented the Ngo Tat To award to the most outstanding articles about Hanoi.
