300 Vietnamese return from Thailand
(VOVWORLD) - Some 300 Vietnamese citizens who found themselves stuck in Thailand by the COVID-19 pandemic returned home on Monday.
Agencies of the two countries worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand and Vietnam Airlines to arrange a flight to bring them home.
Those repatriated included children, pregnant women, sick people, students made homeless by the closing of universities and dormitories, the elderly, workers whose employment contracts expired, and tourists trapped in Thailand.
Vietnam Airlines took measures to ensure security and safety on the flight and prevent the spread of the disease, and all passengers were given check-ups and placed in quarantine upon landing.
