(VOV) – The 4^th Vietnam Trade Union Congress took place yesterday in Hanoi to work out an operation plan for the new term.

The next term from 2013 to 2018 will focus on building a capable staff, recruiting youth union members and bringing into full play the role of the trade union representatives in making laws and policies on issues related to workers and cadres such as salary, housing, insurance, employment and promotion. Ha Thi Khiet, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization said: "Trade union representatives should instruct their members to contribute ideas to the drafting of amendments to the 1992 Constitution. Trade unions at all levels should develop and duplicate models and examples, and launch emulation movements in following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example. It is necessary to pay more attention to training and improving the ability of trade unions who serve as a bridge linking the Party and trade union members and reflect the workers’ aspirations to the Party and State". 

On this occasion, Ms. Ha Thi Khiet presented the 1^st class Labor Order to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for their great contributions in the last term.
