(VOV) – A meeting was held in Vinh Long city yesterday to mark 90^th birth anniversary of late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet.

Speaking at the event, Le Hong Anh, a member of the Politburo and the Party Central Committee Secretariat said Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet was a staunch communist,  talented Party and State leader and an elite son of the people of Viet Nam. Kiet’s 70-year career was closely associated with the harsh but glorious revolutionary path of the Vietnamese Party and people Politburo member. Hong Anh stressed that in the current international integration period, the Party and State of Vietnam are continuing to bring into full play of revolutionary achievements of the predecessors including Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet: Following the moral and political example of Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet, we are determined to raise our revolutionary will and solidarity while practising moral lifestyle of the communists. We will continue to study to successfully implement tasks and fulfill targets set by Party Congress resolutions at all levels". 

Earlier, a ceremony to name a road after Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet took place in District 2 of Vinh Long city. On this occasion, Vinh Long province’s Study Promotion Association presented Vo Van Kiet scholarships to more than 130 poor pupils and students.
