Art exchange pays tribute to martyrs

(VOVworld) – Hanoi has hosted  an art exchange called “Tribute to Martyrs” to mark the 65th anniversary of  War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27.

Monday’s event was attended by NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, Party and State leaders, heroic Vietnamese mothers, martyrs’ relatives, and Hanoi residents. The art exchange honors and pays tribute to heroic martyrs and their families, heroic Vietnamese mothers, and individuals and organizations instrumental in locating and retrieving martyrs’ remains. The event featured songs performed by celebrity vocalists and the choir of the Vietnam National Academy of Music which recalled Vietnam’s two long resistance wars and the heroic martyrs who died for national unity and liberation. Lieutenant General Lê Văn Hân, President of the Vietnam Martyrs’ Families Support Association, said: "The Association, along with the Vietnamese Party and all its people, has contributed to honoring and paying tribute to Vietnam’s heroic mothers. Paying our debt of gratitude to the martyrs of Vietnam has not just a social, but also a political and humanitarian  significance, which needs to be repeated regularly. We call on organizations and individuals to join hands with us in these humanitarian activities".
