(VOVworld) – Participants of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting in Cambodia vowed to advance its collaboration programs and action plans for the 2012-2015 period. The bloc will speed up trade and investment negotiations with its partners while enhancing cooperation in education, trade, agriculture, energy, climate change, and international crimes.

Regarding the East Sea, ministers expressed concerns for regional peace, security and maritime safety. They reiterated that disputes should be settled by peaceful means, with respect for international law, particularly the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and the Declaration of Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC), and called on all parties to complete the Code of Conduct (COC) to ensure regional peace and safety.
