(VOVworld) – The ASEAN Economic Ministers Retreat, the key annual meeting of the bloc, opened in Hanoi on Friday with the participation of 10 member countries and the ASEAN Secretary General. Participants will discuss specific measures to implement a master roadmap to develop the ASEAN economic community by 2015. The Vietnamese delegation is led by Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang. Vietnam will chair a conference of economic ministers from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam to boost economic cooperation and promote the nations’ potential for narrowing the development gap between the four countries and other ASEAN members. Vietnam will propose five additional cooperative action plans with Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam for discussion and seeking financial support from development partners.
