China releases report on American NGOs

China Charity & Donation Information Center’s report says there are about 1,000 branches of the US-registered non-government organizations (NGOs) in the Chinese mainland. According to the report, which was released on Friday, analyzes these organizations’ impact on the Chinese society over the past 30 years, since China opened its doors to the world. The report says these NGO branches mainly fall into categories of humanitarian aid, environment and animal protection and interests safeguarding for women and laborers. The report says major partners of the American NGOs in China are local governments, higher education colleges, and scientific research institutions.
