(VOVworld) – Some 100 experts, including diplomats, scholars, and researchers from US universities discussed the East Sea situation at a Monday conference in New York.

At the event hosted by the Journal of Political Risk (JPR), participants centred their discussions on the illegality of China’s “nine-dashed line” claim and the serious environmental consequences of China’s illegal occupation of islands in the East Sea. They stressed the importance of resolving disputes through peaceful means in line with international law. Journal of Political Risk Editor-in-Chief Anders Corr said opinions and reports presented at the workshop will be collected in a book which will be published in the near future.
