External information asserts Vietnam’s status on the international arena

(VOVWORLD) - The external information service has greatly contributed to promoting Vietnam’s image and status in the international arena, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim said at the National External Information Service Award ceremony in Hanoi on Tuesday night.

National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan presents awards for winners of first prize. 

Madam Ngan called on all those working in the external information sector to improve their awareness of Vietnam’s new role and reporters’ responsibilities.

She said, “The external information service needs to contribute to promoting national strength and era strength and combine external relations activities of the Party, State, the people, and the National Assembly to raise Vietnam’s status in the international arena.”

“We need to turn challenges into opportunities and tout our achievements in the fight against COVID-19 to promote Vietnam, its land and people and prove the correct and firm leadership of the Party, and mobilize more resources for economic recovery and growth,” said Madam Ngan.

The National External Information Service Awards 2019 attracted nearly 1,300 entries in 17 languages from print news in Vietnamese, e-newspapers in Vietnamese, print newspapers in foreign languages, e-newspapers in foreign languages, radio, television, photos, and books.

This year, the organizers awarded 18 first prizes, 33 second prizes, 44 third prizes, and 80 consolation prizes.

The Voice of Vietnam won three first prizes, three second prizes, four third prizes, and five consolation prizes.

VOVWorld won two first prizes, one second prize, two third prizes, and three consolation prizes.
