(VOVWORLD) - Hundreds of domestic and foreign correspondents have registered to cover the ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Son My massacre in which 504 civilians were killed by American troops in Son My hamlet, Quang Ngai province.

The reporters come from foreign news agencies including Reuters, AFP, AP, the Yomiuri Shimbun, the Asahi Shimbun, the NHK, the German news agency DPA and TV channel ZDF, and Russia’s newspaper RIA.
The event which will be held on Friday at Son My Memorial Site will also see the presence of representatives of foreign, non-governmental organizations, and delegations of American veterans.
