(VOVworld) – Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh met yesterday with visiting US Defence Minister Leon Panetta. The two discussed mutual issues.

Mr. Minh spoke highly of bilateral cooperation in search for those missing in action during the war in Vietnam and asked the US government to be more active in dealing with undetonated landmines and supporting Vietnamese Agent Orange victims. The two leaders also discussed  US ties in ASEAN as well as regional arenas for peace, stability and development in the region. They also confirmed continuous cooperation in various fields including maritime security in the East Sea and protection of water sources and sustainable development in Mekong river Delta.
