G7 Summit: leaders commit to boost economic growth and maritime security

(VOVworld) - Leaders of the G7 group of industrialized countries have pledged to cope with global economic instability and fostering maritime security, especially in the East Sea.

In their joint declaration following 2 days of meeting in Japan, the leaders said they will not devalue local currencies to ensure competitiveness. They expressed concern about the situation in the East China Sea and the East Sea and emphasized the fundamental importance of peaceful management and settlement of disputes. They promised to realize commitments on global warming, development of renewable energy and stabilization of oil prices. A series of measures on migrant issues, anti-terrorism, cyber security, healthcare and women advancement are covered in the declaration.
