Global COVID-19 infections surpass 3.4 million
(VOVWORLD) - Worldwide, the number of confirmed COVID-19 infections stood at more than 3.4 million, with some 240,000 deaths and over 1 million recoveries as of Saturday afternoon, according to worldometers.info.

The US is leading the world in both infections and fatalities, followed by Spain, Italy, the UK, Germany, and Russia.
Russian Construction Minister Vladimir Yakushev announced he had been diagnosed with COVID-19. Dmitry Volkov, one of his deputies, also tested positive for coronavirus, the ministry said.
Currently, Russia is one of the COVID-19 epicenters in Europe with 114,000 cases.
