(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese homepage of Google on Sunday featured a doodle of Ha Long Bay to mark the 29th anniversary of UNESCO's recognition of the bay as a World Heritage Site.
Google Doodle depicts in animation a typical corner of Ha Long Bay, with a ship passing by and a flock of birds flying in the sky.

In an article about Ha Long Bay linked to the animated doodle, Google recounted the legend of the bay’s formation. Long ago a dragon descended to Earth and caused the formation of huge valleys which later got filled with water, it said.
The breathtaking seascape consists of some 2,000 islands and islets and is home to hundreds of species, including fish, monkeys, hawks, and frogs.
Its limestone pillars and emerald green waters attract millions of visitors every year, making it one of Vietnam’s national treasures, Google said.
Experiences not to be missed when visiting Ha Long Bay include exploring Sung Sot Cave, fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and kayaking.
Ha Long Bay is an important destination for scientists, who come here to study the movement of geologic plates and the history of climate change.
