Government helps ethnic people to increase their legal knowledge

The Ministry of Justice has held a conference to collect opinions on a draft policy to provide legal support for poor people in line with the Government’s resolution. At the meeting in Hanoi on Thursday, the participants discussed various points including who would benefit from the policy and its financial mechanisms. The draft policy includes seven regulations on subjects and areas that are applicable and the activities to receive legal support including the responsibilities for ministries and agencies. Doctor Tran Huy Lieu, Acting Director of the Department for Legal Support, said that the policy will help poor and ethnic people to increase their knowledge of current legislation and the Government’s policies and preferential regulations. It will also encourage them to participate in local government, social affairs and supervisory activities, as well as bring the policies to life.
