(VOVworld) – The Hanoi municipal People’s Committee has raised 2.5 million USD for the “For the poor” fund and social security-related activities in 2014 in response to the Month for the Poor that will begin on October 17^th.
The donations were made at the launch ceremony on Wednesday for the Month for the Poor, which also marked the 60th anniversary of Ha Noi's Liberation Day (October 10^th) and Vietnam Entrepreneurs' Day (October 13^th).
Dao Van Binh, President of the Hanoi chapter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, said that despite current economic difficulties, businesses have continued to boost Hanoi’s economic and socio-cultural development.
