HCM City raises funds for the poor

(VOV/VOVworld)- HCM City’s Red Cross Society says it will launch a program to raise funds to ensure a happy new year for the poor on January 20 next year. The Society hopes to buy 25,000 sets of gift worth 25 USD each for the victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, orphans, as well as disabled and poor people in the city. It will also target disadvantaged overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia. Nguyen Thi Hue,  President of the city’s Red Cross says: "In response to the program “Tet for the poor and victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, we are trying to raise funds for disadvantaged people to bring them a happy time at Tet. We call on all local enterprises and kindhearted people to share poor people’s problems at the new year".
