Honored artists taken photograph with President Truong Tan Sang

(VOVworld) – A ceremony was held in Hanoi on Friday to present the Ho Chi Minh awards for Literature and Arts and People’s Artist title, the highest distinction in the field. The recognition shows the care and recognition of the Party, Government, and people for artists’ contributions to the national literature and arts. 12 works of literature and art and 74 artists granted with People’s Artist title. President Truong Tan Sang addressed the awarding ceremony ‘Over the years, Vietnam’s art and literature have inherited and developed patriotism and humanism in combination with the national revolutionary cause. Art and literature has become an useful weapon in cultural and ideological fronts contributing to the country’s success to gain independence, freedom and reunification. The Party, Government and people have spoken highly of contributions by artists including those conferred with the title People’s Artist and Ho Chi Minh Award today’. 

Mr. Sang also stressed the need to develop and maintain a culture imbued with traditional characters, humanism, and democracy.
