Carrie Lam, Hong Kong’s Chief Secretary for Administration, said their discussion centred on China’s electoral framework and the protesters’ call for the establishment of civil nominations, adding that there are differences between the two sides on principal matters. Lam said she hoped for further talks with the students and that the Hong Kong government will submit the protesters’ demands to China’s Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office.
