Hong Kong: clashes between police and protestors continue in Mong Kok
(VOVworld) – Clashes between police and protesters continued on Sunday morning in the Hong Kong district of Mong Kok, one of major camp sites of the “Occupy Central” movement in Hong Kong. The clashes were said to take place following an appeal made on the internet asking people to occupy the intersection of Argyle street and Nathan Road after Saturday midnight. Dozens of policemen were deployed to the area and the Hong Kong government said around 20 people were injured during these clashes.
Earlier, Hong Kong's Chief Secretary Carrie Lam said on Saturday the administration will have a direct dialogue with student representatives of the “Occupy Central” movement on Tuesday. The dialogue with a focus on political reform in Hong Kong will take place within 2 hours and be broadcast live with 5 representatives from each side to take part in.
