This was as a result of the annual 19th round of boundary talks in Beijing on Wednesday between National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi.

At the talks both sides discussed the increase in measures to manage and protect peace and stability in the border areas, towards tapping cooperative potential and boosting strategic relations between China and India.

In addition to border issues, both sides discussed international matters of mutual concern. Yang said Chinese-Indian relations were of special significance, adding that China is ready to use this important occasion to have a broad- ranging in-depth and candid discussion with the Indian side on bilateral relations, boundary questions, regional and international issues and other issues of shared concern.
