Indonesia praises Vietnam’s digital economy

(VOVWORLD) - An Indonesian official on Monday praised Vietnam’s digital economy, which grew 16% in 2020.
Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said during an online conference that, like Singapore and Malaysia, Indonesia’s digital economy, which has also grown by double digits, is still behind Vietnam.
Minister Luhut said the digital economy has been boosted in the COVID-19 pandemic. The digital economy of Southeast Asia grew 5 percent in 2020, with gross merchandise value of 105 billion USD, he said.
