International textile manufacturers meet in Hanoi

(VOVworld)- The annual conference of the International Textile Manufacturers’ Federation (ITMF) entitled “Challenges facing the Textile Industry: Present and Future” opened in Hanoi on Monday. 200 delegates from 26 countries participated in the event. They discussed material resources and future orientations for the global textile sector. Delegates agreed that the Vietnamese textile sector needs to increase its added values, focus on subsidiary industries, and materials production and strive to reach the export target of 27 billion USD to the US by 2015. Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai said the Vietnamese government will focus on environmental protection and increasing foreign investment in the textile industry.
