Mr. Luu said Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is completing a project to mark 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties and 40th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation in 2017.

Mr. Luu said Vietnam’s National Assembly and its agencies are willing to share practical experience in the legislative field with Laos delegation. Vietnam hopes that the two National Assemblies will foster bilateral cooperation and coordinate in supervising the implementation of the cooperative agreements signed by the two governments.

The two sides agreed to promote delegation exchanges, prepare for a visit by Vietnam National Assembly Chairwoman to Laos, cooperate to organize a workshop on experience exchange between the two National Assemblies to be held in Laos in October, and an inauguration ceremony of a Vietnam-Laos revolutionary historical relic site in Son La province. They also asked the National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs Committees and agencies to work together to supervise the implementation of the cooperative agreements between Vietnam and Laos, especially in economic projects.
