(VOVworld) – Localities nationwide have launched a tree-planting festival in memory of President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of the new year.

The northern province of Phu Tho targets 700 thousand new trees and 700 hectares of new forest by March 18^th. The festival launched in the southern province of Soc Trang on Monday has drawn a large number of participants from various agencies and sectors. In the northern mountain province of Ha Giang, officials, Party members, soldiers, students, and ethic groups have gotten involved in the province’s tree-planting festival. This year Ha Giang province has set a goal of 4000 hectares of forest, including 3000 hectares of production forest, 500 hectares of protection and special-use forest, and 500 hectares of landscape forest.
