Nguyen Duc Chung, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, told a meeting on Wednesday:
“On Thursday, Hanoi will begin to ease restrictions on certain economic activities, but crowded services such as bars, karaoke clubs, massage businesses, and video game parlors, will remained closed. Penalties will still apply to persons who gather in large groups, fail to maintain a safe person-to-person distance, or go out in public without wearing a facemask.”
The National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control called on provinces to ensure health safety in production and business, travel, education, and healthcare. Normal economic activities can resume in low-risk localities. Tran Dac Phu, the Committee’s advisor, suggested some measures to prevent the disease from reviving as large numbers of employees return to work.
Mr. Phu said: “Factories should enforce regulations on checking each worker’s body temperature, maintaining a safe person-to-person distance, wearing facemasks, and restricting contact between workers and families. Preventing the spread of infection must be the top priority.”
