(VOVworld) – Vietnam’s permanent mission to the United Nations on Saturday held a get-together to welcome the Lunar New Year in New York. The 300 guests included local officials, UN diplomats, overseas Vietnamese, and agency representatives. Ambassador Le Hoai Trung told the group that Vietnam’s achievements and its growing stature internationally are receiving wider recognition. Trung said Vietnam is committed to being an active member of the UN as well as other international organizations.

The same day, Vietnam’s Embassy in Argentina convened overseas Vietnamese for a New Year’s party. Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina Nguyen Van Dao briefed attendees on Vietnam’s achievements in 2012 and highlighted the fine development of Vietnam-Argentina cooperation.
