National Assembly discusses draft Law on Employment

(VOVworld) – The National Assembly deputies continued to discuss the draft Law on Employment on Wednesday. The deputies agreed on the importance of issuing the Law on Employment together with other laws, to control industrial relations and put forward ideas to assist young laborers, issue national vocational certificates, and expand the category of people eligible to receive unemployment insurance.

They also looked at the model of public employment services. Nguyen Thi Phuc, a deputy from Binh Thuan province, talked about credit policies for the working generation. “The prioritized subjects to borrow loans from the national fund are small and medium sized enterprises, household traders, and cooperatives that employ a large number of female workers, people with disabilities, and ethnic minority people. I suggest enlisting enterprises, who are doing business in rural and remote areas and among ethnic communities, particularly those enterprises recruiting local workers. It will prevent worker migration to other places and from rural to urban areas. It will also reduce the pressure of employment and population in cities.”

Also on Wednesday, the deputies approved the Law on the Education of National Defense and Security, the revised Law on Value Added Tax, the revised Law on Enterprise Income Tax, and the Law on Natural Disaster Prevention and Reduction.
