During talks on Wednesday with business representatives and officials of Ho Chi Minh city, and nearby provinces, the Governor-General said he acknowledged strong growth in trade relations between Vietnam and New Zealand in recent years. He said Ho Chi Minh city is a promising venue for economic cooperation with New Zealand. Mateparae expressed support for the idea of a twin-city relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and Auckland, adding that many young people in New Zealand want to visit Vietnam, which is a good opportunity for the two counties to strengthen relations.
