(VOVworld) – The 2013 global forum of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) opened today/ on Thursday to intensify talks between the OECD and non-member states, the private sector, and civil society organizations. This year’s 2-day forum, themed “Innovative Approaches to Poverty Reduction, Social Cohesion and Progress”, will include 3 sessions to seek ways to reduce poverty especially in middle-income countries, closing the gap between the rich and the poor, narrowing the distance between developed and developing economies, and decreasing unemployment. Vietnam has been an active member of OECD’s Development Centre. Trinh Cong Khanh, Head of the Policy Department of the State Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs, is leading the Vietnamese delegation to the forum. He will make a presentation on difficulties of social cohesion in dealing with poverty reduction in developing countries.
