(VOVworld) – A ceremony to honor outstanding ethnic students in 2013 was held in Hanoi on Saturday. Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said that these role models represent the country’s learning tradition and are honored by the community. He said that Vietnam considers education and training one of its top priority policies and has invested considerably in ethnic areas. He said: “The State has invested a great deal in education and training, particularly in mountain and ethnic areas. Achievements in this sector have contributed to local socio-economic development and poverty reduction. Emulation movements in these areas should continue to promote teaching and learning.”

105 ethnic students have won high prizes in national competitions and achieved high grades in university and college graduation examinations this year.
