At a meeting with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Prime Minister Chinh expressed his pleasure at the growth of the Vietnamese community in the UAE, recognizing and appreciating the important contributions of the Vietnamese community abroad in general, the UAE in particular, for the homeland and the country.
He said that after more than 30 years, the Vietnam-UAE relationship have been developing, adding that during this visit, the two sides will upgrade their ties and sign the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
The Prime Minister said that in meetings with UAE senior leaders, he will ask the UAE side to continue creating more favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live, study, and work stably in the UAE.
According to Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Diep, there are currently over 5,000 Vietnamese people living in the Middle East country. Many are working in fields that require high qualifications and skills. In addition, many large Vietnamese businesses are present in the UAE. Vietnamese restaurants have been opened and Vietnamese students have come to study in the country, said the ambassador.
