(VOVworld) - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on Friday welcomed visiting Speaker of Myanmar’s Upper House Khin Aung Myint in Hanoi.

The Party leader hailed the fine results of the talks between National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and the Speaker of Myanmar’s Upper House. He also said the visit to Vietnam by Speaker Khin Aung Myint will further promote the friendship and cooperation between the two legislative bodies and the two countries. For his part, Speaker Khin Aung Myint expressed his great admiration to President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam’s struggle for national independence. He also spoke highly of the leading role of the Vietnam Communist Party and achievements the country has gained in its renewal process. Mr. Khin Aung Myint affirmed Myanmar’s policy of attaching importance to further bolstering the close neighbourliness, traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with Vietnam.
