PM attends beginning of new academic year at Le Hong Phong School

(VOVworld) – The Prime Minister has reiterated the Government’s priority policy for education to reduce poverty and boost industrialization. Nguyen Tan Dung stated this at a ceremony to begin the new academic year in Le Hong Phong School for gifted children in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday. Mr. Dung said this academic year is the second year the educational sector has been carrying out the education development strategy until 2020, with a focus on highly qualified human resources and comprehensive educational reforms. Prime Minister Dung says ‘Le Hong Phong School and other gifted schools have to play a key role in assessing and training up qualified human resources. Students from these schools should have good academic and social knowledge and be proficient in a spearhead industry. Le Hong Phong School needs to make full use of modern teaching aids and the teachers and staff should be aware of the role they play in turning the school into a high quality training establishment. The Government and municipal authorities will facilitate the best possible conditions for the country’s education sector.’

On the same day, in Hanoi, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked the students at Chu Van An School to exert more effort in their studies. He says ‘Being students from Chu Van An School, which has educated many high-ranking state officials, scientists, managers, and intellectuals, you should try your best, work hard and be serious about your studies. More attention should be given to learning combined studies so you can become useful citizens in the future.

The same day, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan attended the opening ceremony of the new school year in Hoang Van Thu School in Hoa Binh City.
