The visit which lasts until Sunday marks a historic milestone in Vietnam-Burundi relations, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening their cooperation in politics, trade, culture, and other key areas.
Vietnam and Burundi established diplomatic relations on April 16, 1975. Over the years, bilateral ties have steadily developed.
As Vietnam and Burundi have yet to establish representative offices, the appointment of a Vietnamese Honorary Consul in Burundi in 2024 serves as a significant step toward enhancing economic, tourism, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges.
