(VOVworld) - State President Truong Tan Sang says Vietnam always pays special care to enhancing friendship and cooperation with traditional friendly countries and communist and workers’ parties worldwide, especially the Russian Communist Party. Sang stated this at a reception for the Chairman of the Russian Communist Party Gennady Andreyevich Zyuganov at the Kremlin Monday. Zyuganov confirmed his support for the ways Russia’s leaders are strengthening their strategic partnership with Vietnam. Both parties agreed to exchange senior level delegations to discuss information campaigns, party building, and mobilizing the people as well as nurturing relations between both parties in the interests of both countries and peoples. In a meeting with the acting Chairman of the Council of the Russian Federation, or the Upper House, President Sang hailed Russia’s moves to promote its strategic partnership with Vietnam, which is stated in President Putin’s directions on the country’s external affairs in the near future.

The same day, President Sang attended the Vietnam-Russia Business Forum. He briefed the participants on the fruitful results of his talks with President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. Sang said that the leaders of both countries had agreed on how to develop their bilateral strategic partnership over the next decade: “The Government of Vietnam respects, encourages and creates the best possible conditions for Russian business to operate in Vietnam in every economic sector, especially in oil and gas, trade, mining, education and training, tourism and labor. Vietnam will facilitate Russian businesses, who choose Vietnam as a strategic destination for expanding their economic ties with Vietnam and the ASEAN region.”

Vietnamese-Russian two way trade is expected to hit 3 billion USD this year. Russian operates many major projects in oil and gas, mining, energy and tourism. The country is also key to Vietnam’s first nuclear power plant, a symbol of that solid bilateral ties in the 21st century.
