(VOVworld)- The 3rd Nuclear Security Summit opened at the Hague in the Netherlands on Monday with 53 countries and 5 international organizations participating. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will deliver a key note speech at the summit affirming Vietnam’s consistent policy of using nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, ensuring nuclear safety and security, and being responsible to the international community. Prime Minister Dung will discuss with top leaders from various countries measures to strengthen nuclear security, reduce the threats from nuclear terrorism and review the outcomes of commitments of past summits. They will also map out necessary measures to be taken in the near future to ensure nuclear safety globally.

During his 2-day stay in the Netherlands, Prime Minister Dung and the Vietnamese delegation will participate in 9 sessions at the summit, 8 meetings with leaders of other countries and 10 other activities as part of their working visit to the Netherlands.

Prior to the summit, Prime Minister Dung received leaders from the Danmen Group, the Netherlands’ largest and one of the Europe’s leading ship builders. Danmen has cooperated with Vietnamese ship building yards in technological transfer and human resource training.
