(VOVworld) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung yesterday met with Speaker of the State Duma of Russia Sergei Naryshkin as part of his official visit to Russia. The two leaders expressed delight over the positive development of their comprehensive strategic partnership. Dung briefed Naryshkin on his talks with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev stressing that with political determination, relations between Vietnam and Russia will become increasingly effective and practical, making important contributions to each country’s development. Dung conveyed an invitation by Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung to Naryshkin to visit Vietnam. Naryshkin acknowledged the contributions of PM Dung’s visit to bilateral cooperation and praised the friendship and cooperative relations between Vietnam and Russia. He also spoke highly of the contributions of parliamentarian friendship groups.

The same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met with representatives of the Russian-Vietnamese Friendship Association, the Association of Russian Veteran Military Experts and several other groups.

During his meeting with leaders of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association in Moscow on Tuesday, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said that Vietnam gives priority to developing the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia. He proposed the association increase delegation exchanges and cooperate closely with its Vietnamese counterpart to successfully organise cultural and tourism activities, as well as trade and investment promotions. He asked the association to provide continued support for Vietnamese expatriates in Russia to help them integrate well into local communities.

The same day, PM Nguyen Tan Dung received representatives of leading Russian groups. He confirmed that the government of Vietnam creates the best possible conditions for Russian businesses to invest in Vietnam. He encouraged the two countries’ business communities to expand cooperation in new areas, including exploration and exploitation of oil and gas and titanium, aviation, and telecommunications.
