Following his meeting with Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se, Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida told reporters the two sides will continue to discuss the issue of “comfort women” forced to work in Japan’s wartime military brothels at future ministerial meetings. This is a condition that President Park Geun-hye set for talks with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The two foreign ministers agreed on a three-way summit with China to take place later this year. They also pledged to co-operate with the US on nuclear issues involving the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
