Saudi Arabian ambassador plotter sentenced to 25 years
New York City Federal Court on Thursday sentenced Manssor Arbasiar, an Iranian-American who plotted the assassination of the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the US, to 25 years in prison. Judge John Keenan said the 25-year custody was the maximum sentence available for the charge of conspiracy and murder-for-hire, adding that the verdict was appropriate, although attorneys had asked for a maximum sentence of 10 years. The 58-year-old real estate and car dealer has been living in the state of Texas since moving to the US in 1977.
