(VOVworld) – A seminar on the International Convention on Civil and Political Rights was held today/ on Tuesday in Hanoi as part of a project to enhance the country’s ability to implement international conventions on human rights.

Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UN Development Program co-organized the event. Ha Kim Ngoc, Foreign Minister’s assistant underlined the consistent policy of Vietnam’s Party and State in assuring human rights for everyone. The participants also discussed international conventions on civil and political rights and a request to  report on the implementation of the conventions to the UN’s High Commissioner for Human Rights. Ngoc said the seminar was an opportunity to share and learn from the experiences of others when reporting and implementing the convention in Vietnam.
