(VOVworld) – Southeast Asia is a dynamic region, according to experts who gathered for a conference on Southeast Asia held at the University of Oxford in the UK on March 22-23.

Speeches focused on key issues faced by the region, for example, legal reform, integration, economic development, environmental protection, and natural resources exploitation. They said Southeast Asia possesses significant advantages for active development, yet some traditional and non-traditional security challenges have been threatening its stability. They said more regional cooperation is needed in sharing resources, and that ASEAN needs to play a stronger role in peacefully resolving territorial disputes in the East Sea.
