Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh said the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese were pioneers in encouraging overseas Vietnamese to contribute to national liberation, construction, and defense. The Committee has organized activities to connect overseas Vietnamese with their homeland, such as Vietnamese language programs, visits to Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, and summer camps.

"The Committee needs to mobilize greater overseas Vietnamese resources for national development, especially in technology transfer, trade and investment. It’s necessary to continue teaching the Vietnamese language to overseas Vietnamese and update them on Party and State policies and guidelines to counter distorted information from hostile forces," Deputy PM Minh said.
