Three Vietnamese named in Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Asia

(VOVWORLD) - Three Vietnamese entrepreneurs have been named in the list of the Most Powerful Women Asia 2024 (MPW Asia) announced by US magazine Fortune.

They are Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Founder and Chairwoman of Vietjet Air; Nguyen Duc Thach Diem, CEO of the Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank); and Mai Kieu Lien, CEO of Vinamilk.

Thao, ranked 66th on Fortune's list, founded Vietnam’s first private airline, Vietjet, in 2011, with the goal of making air travel more accessible to both domestic and international passengers.

Meanwhile, Diem, who ranked 71st, was appointed CEO in 2017. She has since helped Sacombank surpass its growth targets and double the size of its asset to 27 billion USD.

The final Vietnamese representative on the list is Vinamilk CEO Mai Kieu Lien. Under her leadership, Vinamilk is now the largest food and beverage company listed on the HCM City Stock Exchange (HoSE), with a 6 billion USD capitalization.
