Top leader meets outstanding entrepreneurs

(VOVWORLD) - Priority should be given to ironing out difficulties for businesses and ensuring their sustainable development to achieve the goal of making Vietnam a developed country with high income within the next 2 decades and building a green, inclusive, and sustainable economy, said Party General Secretary and President To Lam on Friday.

During a meeting with a delegation of outstanding entrepreneurs from the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Vietnam Private Entrepreneurs Association, in celebration of Vietnam Entrepreneurs' Day (October 13), Mr. Lam called on entrepreneurs to promote national spirit and patriotism, uphold business ethics, foster great ambitions and aspirations for development, and serve as role models of integrity, humanity, and responsibility in business.

He asked state agencies to actively engage in dialogue with entrepreneurs to foster mutual understanding and support.

Vietnam boasts over 930,000 active enterprises, with 98% classified as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The private sector contributes approximately 60% of GDP, generates 30% of state budget revenue, and employs 85% of the workforce.
