Top leader pays floral tribute to President Ho Chi Minh in France's Montreuil

(VOVWORLD) - As part of his official visit to France, Vietnamese General Secretary and President To Lam and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, laid wreaths in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at Montreau Park in Montreuil on the outskirt of Paris on Sunday.

Following a wreath-laying ceremony at the Ho Chi Minh Monument, the delegation observed a moment of silence to honor the late president. General Secretary and President To Lam expressed deep gratitude to the city of Montreuil for its dedication in preserving the invaluable documents and relics associated with President Ho Chi Minh. He noted that during his lifetime President Ho Chi Minh worked tirelessly to strengthen the relationship between the Vietnamese and French people and was one of the founding members of the French Communist Party.

Lam highlighted the positive development of the Vietnam-France Strategic Partnership, which is built on a foundation of mutual trust and historical friendship. He underscored the importance of cooperation between localities in both countries, a distinctive feature of their bilateral relationship.

Lam said: "I would like to reaffirm that Vietnam always views France as a leading European partner and is committed to deepening our Strategic Partnership. My visit to Europe, my first as General Secretary and President of Vietnam, demonstrates Vietnam's strong determination to enhance multifaceted cooperation with France."

Montreuil's mayor, Patrice Bessac, welcomed the Vietnamese delegation and expressed his pride in hosting the Vietnamese General Secretary and President at Montreau Park, a place of historical significance. The Living History Museum in the park, which preserves the legacy of liberation movements and human dignity, also houses a dedicated space honoring President Ho Chi Minh.
After the ceremony, General Secretary and President To Lam planted a commemorative tree and, together with his delegation, visited the Ho Chi Minh Space at the Living History Museum. Before concluding the visit, he signed the Golden Book of Remembrance, leaving a lasting mark on this momentous occasion.
