(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam and Russia officially established diplomatic relations on January 30, 1950. Over the past 75 years, this relationship has steadily grown for the mutual benefit of both nations and their people, evolving into a comprehensive strategic partnership.

Speaking to the press on this occasion Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi said that today's Vietnam-Russia relations build upon the historic friendship between Vietnam and the former Soviet Union.
He said political ties between the two countries have remained strong with a high level of trust and continuous reinforcement through various mechanisms, including regular delegation exchanges at all levels. These high-level visits enable leaders to share information and provide timely direction for bilateral cooperation.
Looking ahead, Ambassador Khoi highlighted significant opportunities to deepen Vietnam-Russia collaboration. He stressed the need to enhance economic and trade cooperation by facilitating market access for businesses in both countries. Key areas for expanded partnership include agriculture, manufacturing, renewable energy, and information technology.
The ambassador also underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation in high-quality workforce training, particularly in engineering and technology. Additionally, he called for increased cultural exchanges, including art exhibitions, festivals, and other events, to promote mutual understanding and appreciation of each nation's heritage.
On the global stage, Ambassador Khoi reaffirmed Vietnam and Russia’s longstanding tradition of close coordination and mutual support in multilateral and regional forums. He noted that their shared perspectives on international and regional issues reinforce their comprehensive strategic partnership. This cooperation not only strengthens bilateral ties but also reflects a joint commitment to global peace, stability, and development, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region.
